Yes and No Insurance companies have funds in reserve for catastrophic events such as hail and wind storms. A catastrophic event may result in higher premiums for everyone throughout Texas, regardless of who files a claim.
Tip : You will not be able to sell or refinance your home with a damaged roof.

All hail damage is assessed in the same manner. A thorough inspection is performed on every slope of your roof. If you have indentions, bruises, splits, cracks, or holes that can be felt or seen, you have damage.
TIP : Age does matter!!!

The amount of you deductible.
Tip : If you have a full replacement cost policy, the insurance company pays the whole bill except your deductible. However, your adjustment can be very confusing for anyone who has not been through a claim in the last few years.

Glossary of Terms |
- Depreciation the amount of money that the insurance company withholds until work is completed and invoices are provided documenting the repairs.
- Re Inspection a different adjuster to determine the damage to your home.
- Felt saturated black roofing paper used for temporary waterproofing and underlayment.
- Laminated or Dimensional composition shingles manufactured to resemble wood shakes.
- 3 Tab the flat composition shingles.
- Square roofing term for 100 square feet.
- Tear Off removal of existing layer(s) of roofing materials.
- Hit, Bruise, Split names given to the visible impact of hail on roofing materials.
- Lien Release affidavit from contractor releasing homeowner and the mortgage company from obligation for the materials and labor furnished for the completion of the contract. Provided upon payment in full.
- Re-deck installation of 4’x8’ OSB or plywood sheets to provide nailable surface: typically only needed when changing to composition roofing.
- 20 Yr, 30 YR, 40, ECT.-terms for different weighs and lengths of manufacturer’s warranty periods of composition as well as all types of roofing materials.
